Mountains stretch outward in an embracing arc, while fields unfold across the valley. Shadows of clouds and sunlight drift slowly over the waves of rice. Upon arriving in Guanshan, one’s gaze is drawn far into the distance—toward the mountains, farmland, and open sky—where everyday life is interwoven with the rhythms of the land, the seasons, and the climate. Prosperity Glow emerges from this landscape, seeking to create a work that can reflect and receive its surroundings, in response to all that the land of Guanshan has given.

The work searches for a form capable of holding this view. Mirrored surfaces become vessels for the landscape, gathering mountains, clouds, and daylight into their slow rotation. Within this movement, the contours of all things overlap and drift, refracting into fragmented, flowing light. With every turn, the energy held within the land seems to awaken little by little, dispersing once again into the surrounding space.

The installation is composed of geometric forms set at different rotational angles, rising vertically from the site like signals extending upward from the ground. These forms carry the underlying order through which things take shape: nature, architecture, crops, and daily life are all interwoven through structure, relation, and time. As the mirrored elements turn slowly, overlapping lines and framed views create shifting optical illusions, guiding the eye between physical form and reflection, and allowing landscape, light, and time to remain in motion.

Rotation becomes a rhythm of receiving, gathering, and passing onward. Mountain views, cloud shadows, and daylight are drawn into the mirrors, then released as a soft radiance spreading into the surrounding space. The abundance of the land, together with people’s hopes for the future, is gently carried into this cycle. Blessings extend with the movement of light, accompanying both travellers who pause briefly and residents who pass by each day.

Prosperity Glow aspires to become a quietly moving landmark of light in Guanshan. By day, it reflects the surrounding landscape; by night, it leaves behind a gentle glow. Through its steady, unhurried rotation, the work transforms Guanshan’s scenery, abundance, and collective wishes into a light that can be seen, felt, and continuously shared outward.
